~Service Committee~

Mission:
The Service Committee is responsible for mobilizing volunteers, and the volunteers will address service needs of the Greater St. Louis Area Council. The committee will build strong relations with external project contacts, and present a positive image of the Eagle Scout Association. Professionalism is paramount to the success of our organization working with external scouting contacts and groups. We will connect people to opportunities that will serve GSLAC scouts, build the capacity of the organization to effectively accomplish a service project request, promote and encourage volunteerism, and provide leadership in strategic projects that require guidance and direction from our membership.

Objectives:

• Survey needs, evaluate requests, and make recommendations to the ESA Board of Directors
• Obtain approval from the ESA Board of Directors
• Develop a service project plan that includes a timeline, aims, resources, and main purpose   
• Develop and coordinate service projects that fulfill the mission of the Eagle Scout Association
• Coordinate and carry out service opportunities that serve GSLAC scouts
• Reach out to all Eagle Scouts for service project support and assistance, which fulfills our goal of making people aware of the Eagle Scout Association
• Promote the Eagle Scout Association at service projects
