Shawnee Lodge recognized the 2012 Vigil Honor candidates

The Shawnee Lodge recognized the 2012 Vigil Honor candidates during the Vigil Call-out ceremony at Winter Fellowship Banquet, held 12/17. The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can present its members for service to the lodge and council. It is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Arrowmen who have given exceptional service, helping others beyond... the call of duty, involving personal effort and unselfish interest to one or more of the following: their Lodge, the Order of the Arrow, Scouting, or their Scout camp. Join us in congratulating all Shawnee Lodge Vigil Honor candidates, which included two members of the Eagle Scout Association of Greater St. Louis.

Joshua S. Bright
Eagle Scout Josh Bright has demonstrated true leadership to the Order of the Arrow and the Scouting program. He cheerfully served the lodge as Second Vice Chief and served his chapter as Second Vice Chief and Secretary. On the council level, Josh served for five years on NYLT staff and two years as a member of the council’s camp staff. He has also served his district by staffing numerous camporees and klondikes. For his selfless model of outstanding commitment and tireless service to the Order of the Arrow and the Scouting program.

Lucas D. Duenwald
Eagle Scout Lucas Duenwald is truly a dedicated Arrowman who embodies brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service in his daily life. Lucas is a vital member of his troop where he mentors his fellow Scouts as they progress through the ranks. He is an experienced ceremonialist who exemplifies the true spirit of the Order. For his exceptional dedication to his troop, his brothers, and to the Order of the Arrow.

Please join me in congratulating these young men for their Servant Leadership, and living the Eagle Pledge.
Greater St. Louis Area Council Camp Staff Scholarships

Do you have a Scout in your Troop or Crew who you feel is an exemplary Scout and is looking for a challenging and fun filled way to use his summer months while earning money toward college? Have you encountered a staff member at Scout Camp who you feel went beyond your expectations and you would somehow like to recognize his service to you or your Troop? Do you want to encourage the link between education and Scouting and are looking for a way to do this?

Each year, the Greater St. Louis Area Council employs approximately 150 high-school and college students to work on our summer camp staff. These young men and women are our best Scouts. They are primarily Eagle Scouts with strong reputations of good character, leadership ability, and personal responsibility. A scholarship fund program was started to recruit and retain summer-camp staff members of the highest caliber. The scholarships are available for camp staff members who have completed their high-school education and are enrolled as Scouts who work one summer, increasing to $1,250 for those who have worked five summers or more. Your contribution helps camp staff members further their education while they continue serving Scouting.

A contribution to this program can be made in any amount and can be made in honor of someone’s service if you desire. If you make the contribution in honor of someone’s service, they will receive a nice recognition from Council acknowledging that someone has made a
contribution in their honor and thanking the m for their outstanding service. These letters mean much to these young men and women who serve on camp staff. Please make sure that any Scout who is considering working at camp is aware of this extra financial benefit to
them.

If you would like more information, please contact Ray Kreienkamp at 314-821-8750 or kkamp8@goinet.com or Joe Gosney at 314-361-0600.

Gift Memberships:

Annual Membership in ESA makes a great gift for an Eagle Scout or perhaps an Eagle Scout friend from the past whom you wish to “reclaim.”

Perhaps you would like to gift an ESA Life Time Membership for those special Eagle Scouts in your life.

Don’t miss the opportunity to enroll a friend or relative with a meaningful and appreciated recognition of their extraordinary achievement.

Remember that age restriction due apply. Members of the Association need to be 18 years of age to join.

End of Year Donations:

The Eagle Scout Association depends on donations to carry out its work. The value of contributions is increased by the fact that the Eagle Scout Association has a active volunteer network.

As in years past, we are trying to help the Scouts of the Greater St. Louis Area Council, as they travel the Trail to Eagle. One of the best ways you can make a difference to the lives of these people is to make a financial donation to our work.

You may make a tax deductible contribution in memory of Deceased Eagle Scouts or in tribute to Eagle Scout achievers. You may choose to donate to one of our major field operations, or to make a general "unearmarked" donation.

Scouts Preparing For 28th Annual Scouting For Food Drive

ST. LOUIS (Nov. 1, 2012)undefinedMore than 30,000 Scouts and thousands of additional volunteers and parents will be collecting food items during the 28th annual “Scouting for Food” drive in November. Scouts from throughout the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America will distribute more than one million bags on Saturday, Nov. 10, and return the following Saturday, Nov. 17, to collect the bags filled with canned goods. Volunteers organized coverage of the food drive by producing maps that divide 27 counties in eastern Missouri and 10 in southern Illinois into more than a thousand areas for Scout units. More than 500 food pantries throughout the region rely on Scouting for Food and the generosity of the community to help stock their shelves before the holiday season and cold winter months. Scouting for Food donations provide up to a four-month supply for some pantries.

Scouts who collect food in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County will take donations to one of 46 fire stations where it is sorted and boxed. (Food collected outside of the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County is taken directly to food pantries in those communities.)

“Our leaders, Scouts and their parents are preparing to work together on an important service projectundefinedfeeding the hungry throughout our region,” said Ron Green, Scout Executive and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater St. Louis Area Council. “We are providing assistance to those in need, but this drive also teaches young people the value of helping others.”

For the ninth consecutive year, Sunset Transportation, Inc., will transport the food from the fire stations to the St. Louis Area Foodbank. Sunset Transportation will move 55 truckloads of food in cooperation with dozens of truck drivers who donate their time, use their own trucks, and pay for their own fuel.

The Scouts collected more than 45 million food items during the first 27 years of the drive.
Eagle Scout Board of Review Participation

Eagle Scout Board participation is a great way to fulfill your Eagle Pledge. On an average year, of the thousands of scouts served by the Greater St. Louis Area Council, approximately 550 Eagle Scouts earn their Eagle Scout Rank.

As you know, each of them have to participate in both an Eagle Scout Project Review, and a Final Review Board. Obviously the need for qualified reviewers is great. Our District Advancement Committees are always in search of reviewers.

Our records indicate the following members participate in District Eagle Board of Reviews;

Great Fall Weekend sharing fellowship with members of the Shawnee Lodge

What a great fall weekend to share fellowship with members of the Shawnee Lodge.

Special thanks to those members of ESA and a few walk-ons, who made nearly 1,000 cheese sandwiches on Friday Night, and help prepare and serve Saturday dinner for more than 1,500 Scouts and Scouters. Job very well done!

Also, met many new friends at the Root Beer Social. We hope that this effort provided an opportunity for many Scouts and Scouters to gain awareness of the historic tradition and bright future of our association.

We hope to see many of these new fans get engaged and join our ranks. We know the benefits offered to our members are huge when compared to our annual dues of $20. We hope that our new fans visit www.stlesa.org, and determine if ESA is right for them!

With these new members, we can accomplish greater deeds, encourage more Scouts traveling the Trail to Eagle and encourage more Eagle Scouts as we fulfill our Eagle Pledge.

Together we can continue to serve the Greater St. Louis Area Council and continue to give back to this great institution a small part of what has been provided to so many of us.

We look forward to our next Fund Raising Event, November 3, Trivia Night. Proceeds raised at this event to fund Eagle Scout Scholarships, awarded to outstanding Eagle Scouts in the Greater St. Louis Area. To register for this very important event please visit www.stlesa.org. Please plan to attend and re-kindle the fire, support these young Eagles as they continue to progress through a life of servant leadership.

Sincerely,
Eagle Scouts: Merit Beyond the Badge

One hundred years after Arthur Eldred of New York earned this nation's first Eagle Scout Award, new, independent research demonstrates the significant, positive impact Eagle Scouts have on society every day. Since it was first awarded in 1912, more than 2 million young men have achieved the Boy Scouts of America's highest rank. The study conducted by Baylor University, Merit Beyond the Badges, found that Eagle Scouts are more likely than men who have never been in Scouting to:

Have higher levels of planning and preparation skills, be goal-oriented, and network with others

Be in a leadership position at their place of employment or local community

Report having closer relationships with family and friends

Volunteer for religious and nonreligious organizations

Donate money to charitable groups

Work with others to improve their neighborhoods

Root Beer Social Celebrating Centennial of the Eagle Scout Award

We all know the story of the W.D. Boyce and the "Unknown Scout" which led to the founding of the Scouting movement in the United States.

The story fewer people know is that of Arthur Eldred, the first Eagle Scout. The achievements of this man will be celebrated by the Eagle Scout Association of Greater St. Louis at the Fall Reunion held by the Shawnee Lodge of the Order of the Arrow.

According to research conducted by Gary Twite of the Chief Seattle Council, Eldred grew up in Long Island, New York. His Troop served as an honor guard for a visit by Lord Baden-Powell. Scouting's founder shook Eldred's hand and questioned him about his array of badges. Eldred, of modest demeanor, turned red as Badn-Powell continued to inquire about the young man's experiences in Scouting.

In the same year, Eldred would be grilled again by a different group, the national staff of the Boy Scouts of America, in the first Eagle Scout board of review. On August 21, 1912, Chief Scout Executive James E. West formally notified Eldred that he would be the first Eagle Scout. It has been one hundred years since Eldred blased the trail for those of us who would follow such a path.

As such, the Eagle Scout Association of Greater St. Louis, Inc. would like to celebrate by holding a Root Beer Social immediately following the Shawnee Lodge Officer Elections.

This social will offer an environment for Eagles to gather, meet new friends, and reconnect with old ones. All Eagles Scouts are encouraged to attend to honor the centeniial of Eldred's achievement.

Also, Eagle Scouts are encourage to join us as we provide service to the Shawnee Lodge as we prepare and serve the Saturday evening dinner at the Fall Reunion. Additionally, on Friday night, Eagle Scouts are welcome as we put together meals for the Candidates.

All Eagle Scouts are encouraged to proudly sport their Eagle Scout lapel pins or hat pins and do some community service throughout the day of August 1, 2012 – 100 years to the day from the date the first Eagle Scout Award was earned by Arthur Eldred. There is no better way to know who you’re passing on the street than to know he’s an Eagle Scout. You might be surprised to find out how many of your friends and coworkers turn out to be fellow Eagle Scouts. Invite them to look us up on the web, and perhaps join us in membership!

RESEARCH PROVES EAGLE SCOUTS ARE LIKELY TO BECOME LEADERS OF TOMORROW

RESEARCH PROVES EAGLE SCOUTS ARE LIKELY TO BECOME LEADERS OF TOMORROW; GREATER ST. LOUIS AREA COUNCIL EAGLE SCOUTS DEMONSTRATE WHY

By Michael R. Brand, Membership Chairman, Eagle Scout Association of St. Louis Missouri

Since the first Eagle Scout received his badge in 1912, more than 2.1 million Eagle Scouts have contributed more than 400 million hours of service through their leadership projects. In St. Louis alone, thousands of Eagle Scouts have completed significant hours of service to make St. Louis an even better place to live. Many Eagle Scouts go on to become the future leaders of our country, involved parents, and community members who give back.

What makes a good leader in the community? Is it time spent giving back? Passion for improving the community? Perhaps it’s quality time spent with children? There is no one answer, but most of our community’s leaders have a combination of these characteristics and share a similar drive to make our community an even better place to live and work. For more than 35 years, I have been volunteering for the Greater St. Louis Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and have seen the development of this type of model citizenry at a very young age. Throughout my tenure, I have witnessed boys in the Greater St. Louis area become men that exemplify the Scouting way of life by demonstrating character, leadership, and service. Those who thrive on giving back, those who want to achieve even more, those who will be our future leaders, rise to the challenge of advancing through Scouting to reach the BSA’s highest rank - Eagle Scout.

Becoming an Eagle Scout is no small feat. Young men must earn 21 merit badges; serve six months in a troop leadership position; plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project; take part in a Scoutmaster conference; and successfully complete an Eagle Scout board of review. The road to becoming an Eagle Scout is not short, but it’s one that impacts young men and shapes them into the model citizens that we all should strive to become.

I'm pleased to see what I've known for years has actually been scientifically proven. A recently released research study conducted by Baylor University found that Eagle Scouts are more likely to be involved in their community, hold leadership positions, and have closer relationships with family and friends than men who have never been in Scouting.

http://www.baylor.edu/mediacommunications/news.php?action=story&story=113239

According to the study, Eagle Scouts are approximately 55 percent more likely than non-Scouts to have held a leadership position at their workplace and are around 76 percent more likely than non-Scouts to have held leadership positions in the local community. Eagle Scouts are 34 percent more likely than non-Scouts to have donated money to a non-religious institution or charity in the community within the last month, and Eagle Scouts are 56 percent more likely than non-Scouts to work with others in their neighborhood to address a problem or improve something.

Lucas Shapland is one of St. Louis’s newer Eagle Scouts, and Michael Ukman is one of our more seasoned Eagle Scouts. Lucas Shapland wants to be the CEO of a large company someday, and anyone who knows the Lafayette High School senior is confident he'll achieve it.

Shapland, 18, of Wildwood, is one of the most decorated Eagle Scouts ever in the Greater St. Louis Area Council. He's an accomplished musician, playing percussion for three years with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He's performed in several one-act plays, and he's been lauded for his leadership. He does it all while maintaining a 3.8 grade-point average. He hasn't decided where he'll attend college.

"He's a real Renaissance man," said Joe Mueller, spokesman for the local scout council. "I'd really like to fast-forward 20 years because it would be fascinating to see who he is going to be."

After Shapland completed 21 merit badges and the other requirements to become an Eagle Scout in 2008, he stayed involved with his troop, racking up dozens of honors, including 12 palm awards. Each palm means Shapland earned five merit badges over a three-month period. So 12 palms signifies earning 60 merit badges over three years. Shapland ended up with a few extra merit badges, 88 in all.

Eagle Scout Mike Ukman’s devotion and enthusiasm for the Scouting program is an example for other adult volunteer leaders to follow.

He was a Tiger Cub leader, den leader, Webelos Leader and Cubmaster at Pack 621 and an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 783, chartered to Salem Methodist Church. He attended summer camp for 17 years, including a week assisting Troop 109, chartered to the Missouri School for the Blind. He mentored and influenced countless Eagle Scouts, taking special care to make sure each candidate understands their leadership responsibilities.

He completed Wood Badge training and served on more than a dozen Cub Scout Leader Pow Wow and University of Scouting staffs. He was a member of 22 camporee staffs, seven Klondike Derby staffs and is a member of the New Horizons District camping committee. He is a unit commissioner and serves on the district Eagle Board of Review. He supports the efforts of the district Venturing Officers Association and helped with many Fall Fun Rally weekends.

Outside of Scouting, he worked with Habitat for Humanity to build homes, volunteered to help the D.A.R.E program at his sons’ school, and coached t-ball and baseball teams.

He received his district’s Award of Merit and numerous training awards. He is the father of two Eagle Scouts.

His Silver Beaver Award will be presented at the Greater St. Louis Area Council Annual Meeting & Recognition Dinner on June 14.

The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a local council can present to an adult volunteer of the Boy Scouts of America. The award is presented to those volunteers who have made outstanding contributions to the Scouting program. Nominations are recommended by the local council and approved by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

These are just two examples of the many Eagle Scouts in St. Louis who live their lives by the values instilled in them through Scouting. As we celebrate 100 years of this remarkable achievement, and the impact that these men have had on our nation, I encourage all of us to take a moment to recognize an Eagle Scout for the great service he has provided to our community. And if you don’t know an Eagle Scout, please encourage the young men in your life to think about working toward this esteemed honor. We’ll all be thankful for it in the long run.

American volunteers served 8.1 billion hours in 2010!

American volunteers served 8.1 billion hours in 2010, valued at an estimated $173 billion, according to research from the Corporation for National and Community Service. Although the volunteer rate showed a slight decrease from 26.8% in 2009 to 26.3% in 2010 (the most recent year for which data is available), volunteers contributed approximately the same amount of hours - 8.1 billion in both years. The proportion of volunteers who serve 100 hours or more increased between 2009 and 2010 from 33.2% to 33.8%, and the median number of hours served per volunteer rose from 50 to 52 per year. The research also showed Gen Xers stepped up their volunteering commitment in 2010, giving more than 2.3 billion hours - an increase of almost 110 million hours since 2009.

Eagle Scout Facts

The Boy Scouts of America® helps its 2.7 million youth members to be Prepared. For Life.™ The value of that preparation lives in the heart of every person involved in Scouting who has ever overcome one of life’s challenges, and it helps inspire a lifetime of character and service.

Nowhere is this better exemplified than in the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest attainable rank in Boy Scouting. Scouts must demonstrate proficiency in leadership, service, and outdoor skills at multiple levels before achieving the Eagle Scout rank; fewer than 4 percent of Boy Scouts earn the coveted rank. Over the past century, the hard-earned rank has become widely recognized both in and outside of Scouting as a mark of distinction.

History

The Eagle Scout badge was first given in 1912 to Arthur Eldred, a Scout from Brooklyn, New York. By 1982, more than 1 million young men had reached the rank, and the 2 millionth Eagle Scout was recognized in 2009. In 2011, the BSA welcomed more than 51,000 new Eagle Scouts. The organization has averaged more than 50,000 new Eagle Scouts per year over the past six years.

They were also found to be more goal-oriented, have higher levels of planning and preparation skills, and be more likely to take a leadership position at work or in their local communities. On a personal level, Eagle Scouts report closer relationships with family and friends and are more likely to regularly participate in recreational activities in their free time.

Proposal for AMS - Wild Apricot

I think that you would agree that as a member-based organization we should be looking for ways to do things faster, better and cheaper in this economic climate. As we know first hand, volunteer labor hours are very hard to come by, and cash is even harder to get!

It has been reported that forward thinking associations (such as the one you envision) believe that Association Management Systems (AMS) can help. According to Lehman Associates, “Today’s AMS products are critical tools to understand and engage members, support e-business, and e-marketing, power association websites, streamline business processes and enable management to see beyond the day to day operational reports to spot emerging trends and new opportunities.”

I think we would all agree that choosing an AMS, organizations of any size are better served by looking at return on investment (ROI) than initial costs alone: Cheaper offerings (Excel Spreadsheets and Microsoft Word Documents) may lack certain functionality, but more expensive products may pose a different problem: Function Overload. The key is to find a good balance.

I believe that the Proposed Solution will;

Maximize Volunteer Time & Productivity

Reduce Costs

Maximize Revenue Opportunities

Improve Customer Service and Satisfaction

Make Smarter Business Decisions with Data

Market Efficiently and Effectively

And will only cost us around $50 a month, no set up fee, and a 30 day free trial membership was proposed.

Please take time to consider my thoughts in each of these areas on the attached pages.

Maximize Volunteer Time & Productivity

As you know, organizations can improve their productivity through the use of technology. With one integrated system for membership management, content management, E-Commerce, E-Marketing and more, the solution should be designed to help member-based organizations manage and serve their members while streamlining operations and increasing volunteer efficiencies.

The proposed solution automates time-consuming processes, including the new member application process, membership renewal, dues payments, and event registrations thereby reducing the level of effort required by volunteers, and freeing them up to focus on higher value activities. Rather than spending time processing data and payments, volunteers can focus on pursuing the organization’s mission and let the technology do the heavy lifting.

If the Membership Chair is spending time stuffing envelopes and processing data, one of the biggest returns on investment we can get from the proposed solution is to move our Membership Chair from spending 6 hours processing data to 6 hours focusing on member services and programs.

Additionally, ESA can reallocate resources from handling the membership process to other further advancement of Scouts and Scouters, providing service to others, and participating in fun activities.

Reduce Costs

By making more effective use of volunteer time, eliminating disparate manual systems, and reducing the need for “Key User Technical Skills” the proposed solution should reduce cost and risk and help ESA to feed the savings back into serving our mission.

Instead of using and maintaining disparate software systems for memberships, events, e-commerce and more, ESA should expect to save time and perhaps money by managing all of these tasks in one comprehensive solution.

For example, the proposed solution uses WYSIWYG website editors, which build HTML code for website content automatically, thereby negating the need for advanced technical or coding experience. Using standard tools found in Microsoft Word, most ESA volunteers can design and continually add content to a website with members-only features that enhance membership value.

No longer will ESA have to rely on a web designers, now we can do it ourselves, on our own time schedule, and not be dependant upon a web designers schedule.

And with the rise of on-demand – also known as Software-as-a –Solution software, this proposal is being offered via a subscription model. The proposal is one of those systems, and there are no hidden costs for upgrades, hosting, maintenance, and predictable costs ($50 per month for up to 500 members).

Maximize Revenue Opportunities:

With all memberships, event registrations, and perhaps (future merchandise offerings), the ability to pay for multiple purchases via one credit card transaction, simplifies the purchasing process for both members and volunteers- translating into better volunteer efficiencies and higher non-dues revenues.

I anticipate that members will be spending more money per order than in the past. I expect that as we offer more items for choice; memberships, events registration, and other donations, I predict that our members will spend more than 25% more than in the past years.

The shopping cart functionality of e-Commerce gives customers the online purchasing experience they expect, while automated check and credit card processing save valuable volunteer time previously spent tracking down payments.

And by simplifying the planning, coordination and execution of events, the proposal saves time and resources while helping drive one of the greatest sources of non-dues revenue.

Event registration is conducted entirely on-line, with registration forms integrating directly with the database- so no data needs to be re-keyed, and any last minute changes are made in real-time. Payment is processed and confirmation e-mails are sent.

Improve Customer Service & Satisfaction:

Improving member services should always be the goal. Without members we have no association. By empowering customer self-service, equipping volunteers to better address member prospects and member needs, and providing efficient e-Commerce sales, this proposal helps ESA improve the customer experience- and consequently our recruitment, and retention rates.

Similar to Amazon.com, this proposal provides self-service functionality that allows members to manage updates and update their own profiles, opt-in or –out of specific communications, purchase memberships, event registrations, track their history (purchases, event attendance, etc.) and give members the online experience they expect. That means volunteers previously spent handling membership requests can be reduced, and members can get the personalized information they need on demand.

People are accustomed to doing their own transactions on-line, and they really see it as being empowered. Self-service functionality will save our members from having higher dues by reducing volunteer burn out, and will allow us to operate without “specific volunteer skill dependencies.

In addition, the easy retrieval of data empowers volunteers to quickly and easily meet member needs. Imagine how successful a volunteer will be when they get a phone call or e-mail from a member prospect or member, and they are able to provide the information they need very quickly with a few clicks of a mouse. By just typing in a last name or little piece of information, we should be able to access a person’s record or to the information they’re looking for.

One of the most significant opportunities for ESA to improve their membership satisfaction is by adding new features, especially in the area of E-Commerce. With the proposal ESA can create an on-line store that allow members to pay dues, settle existing invoices, and register for events, make donations, and more. Credit cards are charged in real-time, and all transactions are automatically batched for accounting and order fulfillment.

It is no secret that member service and member recruitment and retention are integrally linked!

Make Smarter Business Decisions with Data:

When armed with information, ESA volunteers can make better decisions. How many hours a week do our volunteers spend looking for data, complaining that information is not shared, stating they cannot determine if information is current, compiling data, reconciling data, etc.?

The benefit of the proposal is that it consolidates data and puts it in the hands of many, translating raw data into queries, reports, and snapshots of information that users at all levels can use to make faster, better decisions.

Currently, there is really only one person in the organization who can enter things or pull reports. With this proposal people can locate the information they need themselves.

ESA needs to develop a holistic view of our members. A complete history of member activities, awards, interest, location, membership activities chairs can easily pinpoint core members and identify idling members to then direct recruitment and retention efforts.

With this new information, I will predict that ESA will realize new opportunities for growth; membership segments that weren’t serving, events, services, products that were not selling. Perhaps even holes in accounting. Such as uncollected dues, and recover lost revenues.

Market Efficiently and Effectively:

By tracking demographics and aggregating data for a complete view of membership, the proposal should assist ESA to better know and communicate with our members. With customer backgrounds, locations, interest, participation history and more collected information in the database, ESA can slice the data and begin creating events and targeting relevant messages directly to individual groups. The result? Reduced marketing expenses, as well as increased recruitment and retention rates.

For example, events designed for specific interests – thus spending its limited marketing dollars more wisely and yielding a greater return.

As a small association, marketing dollars are hard to come by. We have a lot to market with limited amount of dollars to do it. The proposal’s ability to customize data improves our ability to market efficiently and effectively.

Some organizations have created a five-tiered system to classify members based on their past responsiveness and engagement, which can be used to tailor future marketing.

Instead of sending 65 e-mails to someone who has never attended an event or activities we could send 15 a year for things that were more qualified. It’s all about making marketing materials more relative to members past performance.

Conclusion:

Grow our membership? Run more efficiently? Save more money? ESA is under pressure to do more with less – and a robust system makes that possible. With the time and cost savings enabling ESA to refocus on cash generation, and member-serving activities, the system is not only an investment that pays for it – it’s a critical component of ESA success.

At this point in the 21st century, the amount of functionality that we can get for a relatively low price makes it inexcusable not to have a commercial off-the-shelf system in place.
